- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Queen St. West, just east of Bathurst in front of the old King Sol store. For years I've been meaning to photogrpah all of Toronto's abandoned bikes. One night this spring, I was discussing this idea with Duncan and Jason of the City Beautification Ensemble, the dudes that go around the city spray painting Toronto's bike racks. We hatched a plan to combine our two passions. In May, during the city's official Bike Week, we gathered a bunch of our friends and hit the sidewalks in search of abandoned bikes (we actually had maps of the downtown core indicating where we could find the bikes). In total, we visually liberated 10 bikes. |
